PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION BY OPM CoB STUDENTS (FALL 2024 - Fall 2025)
30+ OPM Students Earn Prestigious CAPM Certification on First Attempt
The Operations and Project Management (OPM) Department at the College of Business is proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement: more than 25 of our students have successfully passed the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam on their very first attempt over the last 12 months.
The CAPM®, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), is a globally recognized credential that demonstrates foundational knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies. PMI is the world’s leading authority in project management, setting standards that are highly valued by employers across industries.
For our students, this accomplishment is more than just a certificate—it is a career accelerator. The CAPM® signals to employers that they are equipped with the discipline, knowledge, and professional skills needed to contribute immediately to projects in any sector. Whether in consulting, technology, healthcare, or manufacturing, the CAPM® opens doors to internships, job opportunities, and career advancement.
This milestone speaks volumes about the quality of education and preparation our students receive. Indeed, the program at the Operations and Project Management Department is an Authorized Training Partner (ATP) with PMI. It facilitates our students’ attainment of these certificates, as they can waive some of the required preparatory courses due to the thorough preparation provided by our OPM program. Passing such a rigorous and internationally benchmarked exam on the first attempt reflects the strength of our curriculum, the dedication of our faculty, and the drive of our students to excel at the highest level.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of the students who earned this prestigious credential. Their success reflects not only personal commitment but also the culture of excellence we strive to foster within the OPM Department.
“We are proud and inspired—this is just the beginning.”

Rema Riad Bin Nakia, CAPM®, CPMAI™
“Earning the CAPM has truly enriched my journey at Alfaisal University by allowing me to transition from learning theories in the classroom to feeling confident and engaged in real-world project management discussions.
One thing I’ve come to believe is that there is no “too early” or “too late” when it comes to pursuing certifications that build genuine confidence and expertise. Now, when I sit among experienced project managers or attend complex project management sessions, I feel comfortable and involved, knowing that I understand what is being discussed.
I was also inspired by seeing how widely respected PMI certifications are, and I wanted to challenge myself with something that would strengthen both my confidence and my credibility.
As for how it will help my future career, earning the CAPM has already opened up numerous opportunities for me, making me a more qualified candidate for internships that require project management knowledge. PMI certifications are highly respected by employers, and earning mine early on has given me a meaningful competitive edge in the job market. “
Abdullah Alsaadoun, CAPM®, PMP
“Passing the CAPM and PMP exams has been a deeply meaningful milestone in my journey at Alfaisal University. When the OPM Department encouraged us to join the certified group of students, I honestly didn’t realize how much this experience would change me.
What pushed me the most was the belief that I could achieve something bigger than grades. I wanted to prove to myself that I’m capable of handling real professional responsibilities, even as a student. Studying for these certifications taught me discipline, patience, and confidence. It made me see project management not just as a major, but as a path I truly want to grow and thrive in.
I dedicated three and a half months to preparing for both exams, using the amazing support, guidance, and the materials that Dr. Rahma shared with us. During that time, I followed a study plan studying every single day for four hours. That routine became part of my daily routine, and seeing the results made all the effort worth it. Earning these certifications has enriched my time at Alfaisal by giving me a sense of pride and purpose. It opened my eyes to the opportunities ahead and made me feel more prepared for my future career. I’m grateful to the OPM Department faculty for inspiring us and for believing in us, and I’m very proud to represent Alfaisal University as part of this certified group.”
Let’s take the next step, join the club of distinguished OPM students , and sit for the Project Management Institution (PMI) certification exams. If you need further details about this process, do not hesitate to contact Dr Rahma Lahyani at rlahyani@alfaisal.edu.
